PASADENA, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County police say a 7-year-old boy was mauled by two American bulldogs.
The boy was flown to a hospital in critical condition after the attack Saturday afternoon at a home in Pasadena.
Police say the dogs were family pets and attacked a woman and her 7-year-old nephew. Police say an officer shot the first dog as it was mauling the boy. The officer was tending to the victims when the second dog lunged at them, and the officer shot the animal. Both dogs were euthanized on the scene.
Police say the dogs began attacking the boy inside the house, and his aunt took him outside to try to protect him, but the dogs followed. The woman suffered minor injuries.
