Suspect arrested in armed robberies of UMD students

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – A 17-year-old has been arrested as a suspect two armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery of three University of Maryland students.

Prince George’s County police arrested Nico Jaleel Robinson at his Greenbelt home early Sunday morning.

He is suspected of robbing or attempting to rob three students at gunpoint in about an hour along Baltimore Avenue on Oct. 10.

In one of the robberies, a male student suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police recovered a number of items from the home that were related to the robberies.

Robinson is charged as an adult and faces armed robbery and other charges. Police say he will likely face more charges.

He is being held on a $200,000 bond.
