ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Authorities are investigating the attempted sexual assault of a 23-year-old near a parkway in Alexandria.
Police say the incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in a wooded area in the 5300 block of Homes Run Parkway. Authorities say the woman was walking in the park when she was approached by a man. Police say the man started to talk to the woman and then grabbed her and pulled her into a secluded area where he tried to sexually assault her.
The woman broke free and ran away.
Police do not think the incident is related to an assault in the same area in September.
