SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - Two Virginia veterans cemeteries have been awarded nearly $5 million in federal funds.
U.S. Sen. Mark Warner announced the funding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on Tuesday.
The Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk will receive $3.3 million. The Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia is getting $1.6 million.
The funds will support roadway expansions, irrigation improvements and new signage.
