HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Maryland State Police are urging motorists to avoid Interstate 81 near Hagerstown due to backups caused by bridge work at the Potomac River.
Police said Friday that a lane closure associated with resurfacing project was causing heavy congestion. They urged drivers to find other routes, such as U.S. 11.
Police say they expect the bridge work to continue at least through the weekend.
