RICHMOND, Va. - A workshop is scheduled this week in central Virginia for women who own or manage farmland or forests.
The interactive workshop is sponsored by several state and local agencies and will be conducted Thursday in suburban Richmond.
Organizers say the workshop offers an opportunity for women to learn proper management techniques for their property. Speakers will cover a range of topics and provide information on state and federal programs that provide funding to landowners to support good land management.
The workshop's sponsors include the Virginia Department of Forestry, the USDA's Farm Service Agency and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
