1 killed when bass boats collide on Cherokee Lake

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. - A Virginia man has died in a boat collision on Cherokee Lake in Hawkins County.
According to The Knoxville News-Sentinel ( http://bit.ly/OOZ21T), 76-year-old William Cantrell of Pound, Va., was fatally injured when two bass boats crashed into one another shortly before noon Monday.
TWRA Officer David Crum said Timothy Cantrell, also of Pound, was taken to a hospital. No information on his condition was available. The other boat carried 34- year-old Gary Cooper and 33-year-old Brandon Lawson, both of Rogersville. Both were released after treatment at Holston Valley Medical Center.
The accident remains under investigation.
