HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Alzheimer's Association says it will close its Hagerstown office next month in an effort to save money amid a tough economy.

Cass Naugle, the association's executive director of the Maryland chapter, tells The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown ( http://tinyurl.com/9vb5zey) that office will close on Sept. 1. Naugle says western Maryland operations will be run from the organization's Frederick office.

She said closing the office will save the group about $6,400 a year. The move comes as cuts are being made throughout the organization.
