ROANOKE, Va. - A Roanoke convenience store has been cited for allowing gasoline to leak from its underground storage tanks.
The Roanoke Times ( http://bit.ly/P9WGOm) reports an agreement with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality calls for D&G Mart to pay a $10,159 fine.
A consent order says the gasoline leaked last September from one of five underground storage tanks and that D&G Mart failed to report the leak.
Although gasoline seeped into a grassy area next to the convenience store, Department of Environmental Quality senior enforcement specialist Jerry Ford says the leak didn't harm the environment.
