BEDFORD, Va. (AP) - The Bedford area's moonshine making history soon will be on display at the Bedford Museum and Genealogical Library.
A new exhibit that opens Sept. 7 will include a still from Bedford County, court records and artifacts.
Genealogical librarian and children's education director Jennifer Thomson says the museum isn't trying to glorify illegal activity. She tells The News and Advance ( http://bit.ly/OE8dVR) that moonshine is a part of the area's past.
Thomson says the exhibit also will coincide with the upcoming release of "Lawless," a movie set in Prohibition-era Franklin County.
The museum is seeking personal stories, photos, still machinery pieces or information on the moonshine industry from Bedford County's formation in 1754 until the present.
