Police: Man implies he has gun at Annapolis theater

WASHINGTON – A man who Maryland police say entered a movie theater, pretended to have a gun and cursed at moviegoers was arrested and charged shortly after the incident on Wednesday.

Kyle Nolan Tanner, 25, walked into a movie at about 3:45 p.m. at the Bow Tie Cinemas on Solomon Islands Road in Annapolis and sat in the front row, Anne Arundel County police say. He soon began yelling expletives toward the screen and people in the theater.

Tanner twice left the theater and came back, police say, pointing at the audience, yelling curse words and acting as though he was armed during his final return. Many in the audience fled and the police were called, authorities say.

Tanner, who has no fixed address, fled but was arrested immediately.

He was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and second-degree assault, and was being held at an Annapolis detention center.

Authorities did not say which movie was playing.
