D.C. area gas prices rise for third straight week

WASHINGTON – Gas prices in the D.C. area have risen for the third week in a row, according to the weekly gas price survey from AAA Mid-Atlantic.

The average prices of a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.48 this week, a seven cent increase from last week. The average price for a gallon of gasoline nationally is $3.47, also up seven cents from last week.

Local and national gas prices are still below what they were a year ago.

Analysts think that gas prices will remain in the $3.30 to $3.50 range for the rest of the summer.
