ROCKVILLE, Md., 3:15 p.m. (AP) - A Maryland magic shop that's been around since 1974 is doing its own disappearing act and closing its doors.
"This is the kind of thing you don't experience everywhere, it's unique. Magic has a special effect on people," says Barry Taylor, owner.
Saturday is the final day for Barry's Magic Shop in Rockville. The shop will be open until 6 p.m., and all merchandise is 50 percent off.
"Just to say thanks to everybody," Taylor says of the closing. "It's been wonderful to have all the aquaintances we made."
Taylor says in a letter posted on his website that his lease is up on Sunday. With his store cosed he plans to focus on performing and creating new magic tricks. He is also planning on starting a website where long-time shoppers and magic seekers can find the supplies they need.
