Va. company denies injuring man at W.Va. festival

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Virginia company that provided security for West Virginia's All Good Music Festival denies its employees are responsible for paralyzing a 27-year-old man from the chest down.

Event Staffing Inc. of Norfolk, Va., filed a formal response to his lawsuit in U.S. District Court earlier this week.

Daniel Weaver of Hudson, N.Y., sued several companies for negligence in May. They include Marvin's Mountaintop campground and the event producer, Maryland-based Walther Productions.

Walther has also denied responsibility and filed counterclaims against Event Staffing and two other companies it hired to handle security.

Weaver says event staff chased him as he ran naked through the campground near Masontown last July, and employees found him lying in a swampy area.

He says he was carried by his arms and legs, and deliberately dropped.
