VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach police have charged a suspect in the 2010 slaying of an off-duty Norfolk police officer.
Police said in a news release Monday that 20-year-old Raymond Lewis Perry has been charged with first degree murder stemming from the shooting of 25-year-old Victor Decker. Perry also is charged with armed robbery and two counts of use of a firearm.
In October 2010, Decker was found outside a pickup truck, about 100 yards from the Atlantis Gentleman's Club and across the street from Oceana Naval Air Station.
Police say Perry is currently serving an eighty-eight-year sentence in a federal facility in South Carolina in reference to a series of robberies a month earlier.
The investigation is still on-going. Detectives have interviewed more than 200 sources for information over two years.
