Gas prices down 6 cents in a week

WASHINGTON – The price at the pump keeps falling. The latest WTOP Pain in the Gas Survey shows the average price of a gallon of unleaded regular is $3.62, down 6 cents from last week.

Mid-grade is also down by 6 cents, to $3.87 a gallon. Premium is down by 7 cents to $3.95. Diesel prices are down 4 cents to $4.07.

The average for regular fuel this week is cheapest in Virginia, where regular is down to $3.52 a gallon. The average is $3.60 a gallon in Maryland, and it’s $3.74 a gallon in the District.

One year ago, on June 9, 2011, the average price of a gallon of unleaded regular was $3.87 a gallon, according to WTOP’s survey.
