NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - An international fleet of naval ships is participating in OpSail 2012 Virginia.
The Sea and Air Parade of Sail is new to this year's festivities. The parade of ships and planes will pass through the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and make its way to downtown Norfolk on Wednesday.
Naval ships participating in this year's parade include ships from Germany, Brazil and Norway, among others. U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Army Corps of Engineers ships will also participate.
On Friday, a parade of tall ships will also occur as part of OpSail 2012 Virginia.
