ARLINGTON, Va. - Authorities say a man upset by the price of a room at a luxury hotel in northern Virginia has been arrested after brandishing a gun.
Arlington County police say 29-year-old Andrew Dziuk, of Centreville, was arrested early Wednesday and has been charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and being drunk in public.
Authorities say Dziuk went into the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton hotel about 1:30 a.m. with two firearms on his belt. Police say the man asked about the availability of the rate of a room, became upset over the price and then walked outside.
Police when a security guard approached him, Dziuk pointed a gun at the guard that was loaded and cocked with the safety off. Police responded to the scene and arrested Dziuk.
Based on the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton website, day rates for a Wednesday stay range between $599 to $799 a night.
Rooms this coming weekend are available from $239 to $459.
