MIDDLEBURG, Va. – Saturday’s Gold Cup is the day in horse country known as part fashion show, part banquet and part sporting event.

“It’s all about looking fabulous, and being out in the country for the day, and enjoying time with family and friends, ” says Lisa Capraro, owner of a boutique called Betsey.

Capraro pulled together four outfits, injecting color, patterns and funky jewelry to give an example of the event’s style.

While some women will wear a conservative navy dress, pumps, pearls and white hat, “I think over time people have started to add some punch to their outfits,” says Capraro.

“Changing things up a little bit, still looking dressy enough, but also having a little pizzazz,” she says.
