CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. - Two teenagers have been charged by Prince George's County police after a fight Friday morning that ended in a stabbing.

Prince George's County schools spokesman Briant Coleman says the stabbing happened during an altercation between two female students at Fairmount Heights High School in Capitol Heights about 9 a.m. Friday.

Police say the fight seemed to be over a previous incident involving a wig.

The girl who committed the stabbing has been charged with first-degree assault, and is being held at a juvenile detention center.

The girl who was stabbed, who police say started the fight, is at a local hospital where she was in critical, but stable condition as of Friday night. She has been charged with second-degree assault.

A pairing knife was found at the scene.
