WASHINGTON - Avoiding potholes in D.C. is a losing battle but the District is fighting back.
The District Department of Transportation's annual "Potholepalooza" campaign starts up Tuesday.
DDOT says it will patch the holes within 48 hours compared to the normal 72-hour window.
DDOT started the program in 2009 and it's been successful ever since.
"We've filled 19,000 potholes over the first three Potholepalooza campaigns," says DDOT spokesperson John Lisle.
