The report was released Tuesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It ranks counties in each state by several health factors, as well as other areas such as education, access to health care and unemployment.
The top five healthiest counties in Maryland are Howard, Montgomery, Queen Anne's, Frederick and Carroll. Among the unhealthiest areas are Baltimore city, and Allegany, Dorchester, Somerset and Caroline counties.
