FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Citations and fines stemming from a construction worker's fatal fall at the U.S. Marine base at Quantico are being challenged by the man's employer.

An attorney for J.D. Long Masonry Inc. tells The Free-Lance Star ( http://bit.ly/GNci2l) that the company is working cooperatively with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The agency cited the Lorton-based contractor for four serious violations and proposed $7,000 fines for each one.

J.D. Long Masonry was working on housing at The Basic School at Quantico when the accident occurred on Aug. 8, 2011. Nineteen-year-old Kyle Ashton Sullivan of Spotsylvania County fell about 40 feet from scaffolding and died at the scene.
