RIVERDALE PARK, Md. – A CSX freight train struck a tow truck and the car it was trying to remove from the tracks Saturday night. Nobody was injured.

Riverdale Park Police say it happened around 8:30 p.m. on the tracks near Queensbury Road.

Scott Barber, a Hyattsville man who arrived on the scene after the accident, says he saw the tow truck and a Lexus struck by the train.

Barber says others told him the Lexus had driven up the railroad tracks and got stuck.

Police say nobody was in the car or the tow trucks when the train hit. There were no injuries reported.

The driver apparently thought the railroad tracks was a road and turned onto them when he got stuck.
