Street sweeping tickets mistakenly issued in NW

WASHINGTON – It’s now officially street sweeping season in the District, which means drivers have to follow parking sign directions.

Enforcement isn’t supposed to start until March 12, but numerous $100 rush-hour tickets recently were written in the 600 block of Harvard Street NW that shouldn’t have been.

D.C. Department of Public Works spokesperson Linda Grant did not have the number of tickets written available, but says so far that’s the only area where tickets were written prematurely.

Grant says DPW will void the tickets, but those concerned also can send an email here to make sure the ticket is rescinded.
