Hustler ad wants sexual dirt on members of Congress, Senate

WASHINGTON – Larry Flynt’s full page ad in The Washington Post is raising eyebrows around the nation’s capital.

Hustler Magazine’s Sunday ad offers up to $1 million for documented evidence of illicit relations with a member of Congress, senator or other prominent office holder. The ad is looking for stories of “infidelity, sexual impropriety or corruption.”

Tipsters can call or email the illicit facts in exchange for cash if the magazine publishes the verified details.

Flynt, publisher of the pornography magazine, has run similar ads before with career-changing results. A tip into Hustler kept Rep. Bob Livingston from taking over as House Speaker after Newt Gingrich in the late 1990s. Livingston admitted to cheating on his wife, and later resigned.

Louisiana Sen. David Vitter is another victim of Hustler’s payday advertisements. Flynt tied Vitter to Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the woman who came to be known as the D.C. Madam. Vitter later publicly apologized for his infidelity. Palfrey committed suicide as she awaited sentencing for her federal conviction on money laundering and racketeering charges.
