WASHINGTON – With spring training games underway across Major League Baseball, the Washington Nationals return to Federal News Radio 1500AM Sunday for the first of nine spring training broadcasts.

Federal News Radio, WFED 1500-AM, will carry as many as 161 regular-season games as well during the upcoming 2012 campaign.

The Nationals’ radio team will once again include the popular tandem of Charlie Slows (entering his 8th season with the team) and Dave Jageler (entering his 7th season with the team).

The spring training broadcast schedule is highlighted by five weekend games, including a March 24, meeting against Beltway rivals the Baltimore Orioles.

Nats fans tuned to WFED this spring may also get the chance to hear Prince Fielder should he suit up for the Detroit Tigers’ March 18, visit to Viera, Fla.

Other Spring Training broadcasts include games against the New York Yankees (March 15) and the Boston Red Sox (April 3). The Nats will host the Red Sox in an exhibition game at Nationals Park.

WFED’s radio coverage begins Sunday with Stephen Strasburg’s spring debut. The Nats face the Houston Astros Sunday for the second time in as many days. The Astros beat the Nats 3-1 Saturday in the Grapefruit League opener for both teams.
