LAVALE, Md. - A suspect wanted for beating a 77-year-old man in a department store bathroom and leaving him bloodied has been arrested.
Authorities say the attack inside a Sears store in LaVale was unprovoked. The victim was treated at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center and released.
West Virginia State Police arrested 41-year old Chanin Allison Clark of Slanesville, W.Va., on Tuesday after investigators in Maryland obtained a warrant.
A police statement says store surveillance video captured the suspect.
Investigators say searches of two residences turned up the clothing worn by the suspect and a woman he was with at the time of the incident, as well as additional evidence connecting Clark to the crime.
Clark has been charged with assault. Police expect additional charges and arrests.
