RICHMOND, Va. - The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation says cities, counties and other government entities can tap parks and recreation grants ranging from $50,000 to $200,000.
The department says the funding is made available through a partnership with the National Park Service. Approximately $1 million is in a land and water conservation fund established to acquire and develop public outdoor recreation areas.
The program requires matching funds. The deadline for preliminary applications is March 19.
