BLACKSBURG, Va. - U.S. Sen. Mark Warner will be Virginia Tech's spring commencement speaker.
The university said in a release that the Virginia Democrat will speak on May 11 at Lane Stadium to more than 5,000 graduates.
Warner served as Virginia's governor from 2002 to 2006. He was elected to the Senate in 2008. Before entering public office, Warner co-founded the company that became Nextel, and made early investments in numerous start-up companies.
