TOWSON, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police have identified an intruder they say shot a man whose home he was burglarizing.
Police say 49-year-old Bradford Holup has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses stemming from the burglary and shooting early Sunday in Towson. He's being held without bail.
Police say the 65-year-old homeowner arrived home and discovered Holup inside. According to police, Holup made the man walk into the basement and shot the man as he stood in the stairwell.
Holup allegedly tried to steal the victim's car but failed because it was equipped with an anti-theft device.
Holup was arrested nearby about 2 1/2 hours later. Police say he had some of the victim's property.
The victim was hospitalized and is expected to make a full recovery.
