Music of Budapest, Prague, Vienna featured in D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Kennedy Center is opening a monthlong festival featuring the classical music of Budapest, Prague and Vienna with artists from each city performing in Washington.

The festival opens Saturday with Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte," presented by the Washington National Opera. A series of performances and activities will continue through March 29.

The National Symphony Orchestra will expand its offerings to two programs each week of the festival. A week of music will be devoted to each of the three cities.

The festival also will feature the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on Feb. 29, the Prague Philharmonia on March 20 and one of Hungary's top theater companies, the Katona Jozsef Theatre in mid-March.

Family activities are held on weekends, including the Magic Circle Mime Company's presentation of "The Mozart Experience" March 4.
