WASHINGTON (AP) - Police in Washington are investigating after a woman was found dead in the C&O Canal in Georgetown.
WJLA-TV reports the body was found Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m. in the canal that feeds into the Potomac River.
Police said they received a call reporting the body on the edge of the canal near a number of restaurants. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The woman has not been identified.
