Va. man sentenced for forging, selling IDs

Tuesday - 2/14/2012, 10:00am  ET

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) - A Hampton man will spend more than three years in prison for forging and selling identification documents.

A federal judge also ordered 31-year-old Patrick R. Delaney to pay $324,900. Prosecutors estimate that's how much he earned from selling more than 3,200 fake Social Security and other ID documents.

Delaney pleaded guilty last November to a conspiracy count involving the manufacture and sale of false cards for private gain.

The Daily Press reports that Delaney was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk.
