DOOMS, Va. - Police have identified an 11-year-old boy who was killed in a house fire in Augusta County.
Virginia State Police say Dustyn R. Fitzgerald died at the scene. His parents and 5-year-old brother escaped the fire without injury.
The fire broke out around 8 a.m. Sunday and destroyed the family's house in Dooms.
State police say Fitzgerald was found in his bedroom on the second floor. The boy's remains were sent to the medical examiner in Roanoke for an autopsy.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined but state police say the blaze appears to be accidental.
