WASHINGTON – The secret is out. The popular ’90s girl group, the Spice Girls, is making a comeback.
No, it’s not for the 2012 Olympics as it was rumored earlier this year. Spice Girl singer Melanie Brown revealed that the band will be performing for Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee which is set to take place on June 4.
“I think the Queen’s Jubilee concert is the event I’d be looking at more closely for that to happen,” said Brown when asked if the group would be performing for the Olympics during an interview on Australian television.
After realizing that she revealed too much, the singer — who was formerly Scary Spice in the band — told the television crew off-air, “I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It’s all so totally bloody top-secret still.”
The Spice Girls haven’t shared a stage together since their final show in Toronto during a reunion world tour in 2008.

“I’m always down for a Spice Girls reunion. I love the Scary hair and platforms. Any time of day or night I’ll be there,” Brown told The Sun.
The Jubilee will mark Queen Elizabeth’s 60-year reign. The Queen came to the throne on Feb. 6, 1952 and her coronation took place on June 2, 1953.
According to The Sun, the line-up for the Jubilee concert has yet to be announced, but the public will be able to watch it in the palace grounds through a public ballot. The concert will be recorded for television.
