WASHINGTON - The White House says an Air Force intelligence officer who lives in McLean, Va., is among those who will be a guest in the first lady's box at the State of the Union address.
Col. Ginger Wallace, who has led airlift and intelligence operations, is expected to be a guest at Tuesday night's speech. Wallace, who is training to deploy to Afghanistan in the spring, lives in McLean with her partner of more than 10 years, Kathy Knopf.
In December, Knopf took part in Wallace's promotion ceremony and in the pinning of Wallace's rank. The White House says it was the first such event reported since the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
