Showering in the morning is better for your skin

WASHINGTON - Most people can split between two types: those who shower in the morning and those who shower at night. A health expert says that the two are not created equally, however.

Dr. Alex Khadavi, associate professor of dermatology at the University of Southern California, says showering in the morning is best.

Skin cells work hard while people sleep and repair any damage the epidermis, outer layer of skin, has suffered throughout the day, he says.

Since toxins are discarded through sweating while asleep, a morning shower rinses it all away.

The professor also says two showers a day is even better than just one. Showering at night can ease stress, lower blood pressure and fight insomnia. Just make sure to moisturize since hot showers can dry out your skin.
