ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The House of Delegates has approved the state's $35.9 billion budget and a companion budget reconciliation measure.

The House voted 95-43 on Friday for the budget bill. Delegates voted 88-50 for the budget reconciliation bill, which includes a split of teacher pensions costs with counties. The split would be phased in over three years.

A panel of House and Senate lawmakers will need to work out differences in the budget legislation approved by the two chambers.

The House is still debating a separate measure that would raise income taxes for people with taxable income of more than $100,000. The House also is expected to vote on another bill to close loopholes some counties have been using to avoid fully funding schools as the law requires.
