ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Trash collection in Roanoke County is suspended because someone trashed the county's garbage trucks.
County officials say in a news release that 18 windshields on 15 trucks were smashed. Some truck mirrors also were damaged.
The vandalism was discovered Tuesday morning at Roanoke County's Public Service Center in Salem, where the trucks are parked behind a secure gate.
County officials say there's no trash collection Tuesday. They don't know how long it will take to repair the damage.
Police are investigating the incident.
