RICHMOND, Va. - Starting later this month, Virginia will offer one-stop service for sportsmen seeking to register boats and boat trailers and buy hunting and fishing licenses.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the partnership between the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries on Thursday.
Previously, boat owners have had to go to the game and fish department to register their boats and to DMV to register their trailers. Now they will be able to conduct both transactions at either agency. Both agencies also will sell hunting and fishing licenses.
