LOVINGSTON, Va. - A Virginia winery is getting some national attention for one of its vintages.
Lovingston Winery's 2008 Josie's Knoll Estate reserve has received a score of 89 in the December issue of Wine Enthusiast. The magazine reviews wines from around the world.
The News and Advance ( http://bit.ly/uMxHoq) of Lynchburg said it is the highest score a Virginia winery has received from the magazine.
Winery owner Ed Puckett says the glowing review illustrates that Virginia can produce world-class wines.
Puckett said he's looking forward to the scores for the wine from the 2010 harvest because that year had the best growing climate he has seen since he started the winery.
