RICHMOND, Va. - Six redevelopment projects in Virginia will share $2.8 million worth of state grants.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said Wednesday that the grants from the Industrial Revitalization Fund primarily were awarded to construction projects in distressed communities. The funding will be used to help pay for redeveloping derelict industrial and commercial structures.
Danville, Marion, Richmond and Wytheville each received $600,000. Galax received $382,200 and the Industrial Development Authority of Halifax County was awarded $50,000.
