LYNCHBURG, Va. - Two more roads in Nelson County have been designated as scenic byways by state transportation officials.
Virginia 617 and Virginia 800 join five other roads in the county that previously received the designation from the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Commonwealth Board of Transportation.
Nelson County Administrator Steve Carter tells The News and Advance ( http://bit.ly/viEGR4) that the new scenic highways are great additions to the county's list of attractions.
Virginia 617 runs along the Rockfish River north of Lovingston. It intersects with Virginia 800, which runs into Schuyler. Schuyler is a federal and state historic district.
