WASHINGTON - Getting out of bed some mornings can be tough. You might be willing to try anything to perk you up.
What about caffeinated soap? Does it work?
WTOP tested it out. No, it wasn't a scientific study. Not at all.
WTOP's test revealed caffeinated soap is nothing like drinking a cup of coffee.
It doesn't wake you up.
Whether getting goosed by your soap prompts alertness and wakefulness is purely subjective.
If you haven't heard of caffeine-infused soap before it's likely because liquids are generally considered the best caffeine delivery devices. Caffeine isn't easily absorbed by the skin. The Mayo Clinic warns that too much caffeine can cause all sorts of problems, from a fast heartbeat to muscle tremors.
To feel more alert in the morning without caffeine exercise and an earlier bedtime might help, according to WebMD.
If that sounds too difficult, you can always try making friends with a new soap. Whether it wakes you up or not, you still might like it. (Wink. Wink.)
