WASHINGTON - A U.S. Park Police sergeant who died on duty as he responded to an injured man in the District of Columbia is being laid to rest.
Funeral services for Michael Boehm are being held Wednesday at The Church of the Nativity in Burke, Va.
Boehm, a 19-year veteran of the force, collapsed Dec. 16 as he was helping with an investigation into a critically injured man on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. He later died.
Traffic in the area of Burke on Wednesday morning is expected to be severely impacted as a result of the funeral procession. Following Mass, Boehm will be buried at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, Va.
