Passenger, cargo traffic up at Richmond airport

RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond International Airport is seeing increases in both passenger and cargo traffic.
The Capital Region Airport Commission says passenger traffic rose 1.8 percent in August to 290,122 travelers, compared to the same period a year ago. Cargo traffic increased 6.4 percent to 9.47 million pounds.
Cargo traffic is up 14.8 percent for the year so far, while passenger traffic has increased 0.5 percent.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch ( http://bit.ly/UHfyre) says the commission released the figures Tuesday.
