WASHINGTON -- As the owner of Restaurant Three says, "this is the week to not be on your diet."
The Arlington restaurant is hosting its third annual Week of Bacon, serving upwards of 600 pounds of the cured meat to customers in both conventional dishes, and some previously unheard of.
"We tried really hard to make this year's menu as 'bacon-y' as possible," says owner Jonathan Williams. "We have a three-course bacon tasting menu."
It will include bacon happy hours, bacon on a stick, bacon bar bites.
True believers might prefer the country fried bacon -- breaded, fried and topped with bacon gravy with a side of mashed potatoes.
The event runs through next Saturday.
