WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is having lunch with four winners of a contest that lets small-dollar donors enjoy a meal with the president.
The campaign says the participants include an early-childhood special needs teacher from Nevada, an Afghanistan war veteran from North Carolina, a postal worker from Colorado and a firefighter from Georgia.
The group is having lunch at a restaurant near Washington's Dupont Circle.
The Obama re-election campaign has offered the meals with the president, first lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to boost campaign contributions online, allowing donors the chance to enter a drawing to sit down with Obama over a meal.
Giving was not required, but the campaign requested $3 donations or more from anyone willing to contribute.
