WASHINGTON - A D.C. man has been arrested in connection with three incidents of arson in the the city.
"This is a serial arsonist who has been involved in multiple arsons throughout the area," says Rich Marianos with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
WJLA reports Maurice Dews, 26, was arrested Monday after allegedly setting fire to a vacant home at 804 48th Place in Northeast.
Dews reportedly admitted to setting an April 8 blaze in which five D.C. firefighters were injured at 811 48th Place NE, as well as a fire at 4501 Grant Street NE on June 14.
Two of the injured firefighters are still in rehab.
Stephen Avato with ATF says additional charges against Dews are possible.
